Kodak's Story...
Updated December 27th...We are happy to introduce you to Kodak, a beautiful lab mix puppy with a fabulous personality. Kodak is about 4 1/2 months old, weighing in at around 25 pounds. He is a very, very sweet pup with a wonderful personality, overall fantastic puppy. He is crate trained, very playful, wonderful with kids, good with other dogs, even good with cats. He is an over all terrific pup who is doing really well with his potty training, no accidents in weeks. He has a beatuiful black coat with a bit a wave to it and some white on his chest. His looks are just as precious as his personlatiy. Kodak is a winner.

Kodak is being fostered in an Aurora around other dogs and children and is really great with them. This is what the foster mom says about him "Kodak is a people person, he loves children & other dogs and cats too!!! He is crate-trained and house broken. (He has not had an accident in weeks!) He loves stuffed toys, squeaky toys, playing chase in the backyard with the resident dog & playing fetch with the children. He has taken to traing very quickly & is very treat motivated. He can sit, go down (lay), sit back up, come, and is learning roll over and stay. He loves to snuggle & be by your side all the time. Kodak is a true companion. When it is time for the foster mom to go to work, he knows to go in his crate & does not bark. When she returns, he knows to go straight to the door & go outside to go potty. Kodak is a happy dog who hasn't met a person he doesn't like. He is smart, playful, obedient, loving, gentle & loyal. What more can an adopter ask for in a dog?

Kodak came from high kill shelter with very minor demodex manage. He was been treated with Ivomec and an herbal supplement, and he looks really good. His last dose was given on December 19th. The only thing this baby wants for 2011 is a family to call his own. He really deserves it after all he has been through. Big black puppies like Kodak are usually the last to make it out of an already crowded animal control. Add it a little bit of mange, and well he almost did have a wish list for Christmas. We are so glad we were able to rescue Kodak, because he is such a happy, gentle puppy.

The adoption fee is $250.00 and includes his neutering when age appropriate, microchip, 1st, 2nd and 3rd puppy vaccinations, rabies vaccination, dewormed with Panacure and Droncit, treated with revolution for the prevention of fleas, mites and heartworm, any other medical he may need while in our care, along with a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic or Wheaton Animal Hospital. The adoption also comes with 25% off an obedience class at Lucky Dog Academy in Plainfield, and a free 30 minute evalution with a certified pet trainer at Petco.

Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save these animals. If you would like to meet this precious puppy, an adoption application must be submitted. You can go to to download an application or email and we will be happy to email you one.

We are a rescue and thus breed and size at maturity are only guesses. Thank you for looking at our rescued animals, and wanting to give them a wonderful home for the holidays.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kodak, a Naperville Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
