My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Red, and my Christmas wish is to find my new Forever Home. My family contacted ESRA because my mom got really sick and can't live at home now. My dad is so busy working and caring for my mom that there was no time left for me. They really loved me, and after much soul searching they decided that I would be happier in a home that had time for me.

I am spayed, up to date on shots, on heart worm preventative, and microchipped. The only health issues I have are a fatty tumor on my chest and the early signs of hip dysplasia. I know the commands Sit, Shake, and High Five. I will stay in the yard once you show me the boundaries, and I come when called. I am housetrained and have a crate, although I have had the run of the house with no problems.

I am a mild-mannered, gentle lady who would prefer a home without dogs. There are two boy dogs that I tolerate at my foster home, but I am most comfortable when it is just humans. I have never met a cat, so I am not sure how I would react. Kids are okay--just not the little ones, except maybe if they have had dogs before. I have always been around grownups, so I am really not used to a lot of activity and noise.

Hear are some fun facts about me: I LOVE coffee! My former owners used to give me a latte as a special treat. I like to play fetch with my rawhides and pig ears before I eat them. When you give one to me, I run around like crazy and then drop it in your lap for you to throw. I will bring it back so we can keep playing until I am ready to chew. I am very friendly, and my tail hardly ever stops wagging.

Are you the one to make my wish come true? If so, please contact my foster parents so I can show you my happy, waggy tail!

Love,
Red
