Nutmeg & Spice's Story...
Spice and Nutmeg are incredibly sweet, very playful, friendly, acrobatic and fun 16-week-old, orange tabby sisters looking for a loving home – preferably together. People often tell me that if you adopt two kittens, they bond with each other and not with their people. That is soooo not the case with these girls. They both run to you when you enter a room and climb in your lap. You can hear them purring happily from across the room. When they’re not cuddling, they’re running around the house with a sparkle ball in their mouth and chasing each other around. Spice and Nutmeg are extremely well behaved, and use their litter box and scratching post like good kittens. They love people of all ages including children, other cats, and love cat-friendly dogs too. Spice and Nutmeg are very healthy, spayed, vaccinated, virus-tested, and de-wormed. Their adoption fee of $75 each benefits rescued pets. To meet and possibly adopt these kittens, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com or 312-961-4571. These kittens have all their claws, and they would like to keep it that way.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nutmeg & Spice, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
