Here's what the humans have to say about me:
JADE: Jade is a bit timid though she is braver than her kennel mate, Buster. She will ask to sit on the couch with us, but when we bend over to pick hre up, she runs and cowers. She will come to you for a treat and will let you hold her, although she is not comfortable and will not relax yet in your arms. She is crate trained and is working on housetraining. She does tend to bark excessively, including at another dog walking through the house, or if one gets up for a drink or to reposition. She will also bark if in her crate. Jade has also proven to be destructive in the house and will chew anything if not closely supervised. She has chewed woodwork, electric cords (unplugged!), furniture, and will challenge you if you try to take an object away. I know I am not painting a pretty picture of Jade, but am being honest. I do feel with the right people, Jade can learn to trust again, and will learn house manners. She is good with the other dogs and cats, just dominate. I do not recommend a home with young children for Jade.
Jade wants to add: I am really trying hard to be a good girl. Honest I am! It is just so hard to unlearn all the behaviors I used in the mill to survive! I guess I don't need to be brash and dominating now, but in the mill, that is how I got more to eat, and the best place to sleep out of the wind. I see Buster snuggling up with the humans, and he says they are really nice and warm! I want to snuggle too, but I panic at the last minute and just go off to a corner. I like being warm and having good food to eat! I don't even h ave to fight for the food! I am trying to remember they feed us everyday, 2 times! I don't have to chew on wood or other stuff to feel full, but I guess old habits die hard. I am working on all these things though. I want to be a good girl and I want to be loved! If you will give me a chance, I would do my best to learn to be a family member. Do you think you have the extra love and patience to help me adjust?
Jade is located in Topeka, KS. She is a 4 yr old Black and Tan Male who weighs 9 lbs, stands 10 - 11" tall. Jade has a Docked tail with Cropped ears. We will not ship this girl.
