Copper's Story...
Copper is a full blooded 7 month old Chocolate Labrador Retriever. His mother is AKC registered chocolate (coppertone) lab "Sweet Miss Molly Coppertone Royal Rufus of Essex" who is an English/Canadian lab. His dad is a full blooded unregistered American chocolate lab who lives next door. Owner had no intentions of breeding Miss Molly but the 12 year old granddaughter thought it would be fun to have puppies so she introduced Miss Molly to him and eight puppies resulted from this "introduction." Copper is one of the puppies surrendered to ALOE along with his two brothers who have now found their forever homes. Copper is extremely sweet and just wants attention, love and affection. He is very smart and could be easily trained. He doesn't run off when out of the kennel but just stays by your side. He gets along great with other dogs and cats, all adults and without a doubt children. He loves to play and is a great ball retriever. Walks well on a leash. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots.; He was hit by a car when he was only a few weeks old and was not taken to a vet because he owner had fallen on hard times financially. As a result he has lost some of the use of his back left foot although almost unnoticeable. ALOE is currently consulting with veterinarians to determine the long term affects of his injury. Please call Margaret at 843-217-7077 for more information or to arrange to meet Copper who currently resides on Edisto Island,

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Copper, a Edisto Island Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Edisto Island, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Edisto Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edisto Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edisto Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edisto Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
