My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mossimo. 8 mo +/- Cream Tabby & White DSH/ short haired Maine Coon.

January update: Harriet in Santa Cruz is this boy's new foster mom and she writes:

This little guy is all sweetness. Where Pierre is a cute kitty full of character ( utter goofball ), Mossimo is the super sweet one. He has silky soft fur and the same wonderful red color with tabby stripes as his brother. He will put his paws on you and hold on to you.

What I especially like is his tender pink little nose. He is not a little guy actually he will be growing into a fairly large cat. Both these boys are still growing and will grow more for the next year or
so.

Mossimo is a very playful curious kitty. But he also has a "I am a baby kitty let me cuddle
with you " side that I think you can see in his photo's. These two
are a great pair. They must be adopted together and someone will be
so very lucky to have their companionship in their home.

Earlier biography:
In all actuality this kitten is part Maine Coon but because he has none of the physical attributes of the breed, we need to list him as a simple domestic short hair. The entire litter of kittens were super puffers, but ... well ... recessive genes just happen sometimes. Have you ever seen that? An entire family of blonds and you get a brunette? Or one sibling has blue eyes and the rest have brown. In the case of cats, it is even easier to have a unique kitten in the mix because not every kitten has the same daddy. And that's what we have with Mossimo. He appears to be a domestic shorthair with some Maine Coon in his lineage. Mossimo has a beautiful, easy-care coat, and his fur is very silky. He has pretty gold eyes and soft cream tabby markings that contrast nicely with his white feet and chest.

What is important about Mossimo is that his personality is 100% Maine Coon, even more so than his siblings who look the part. People say Maine Coons have "dog like personalities". Well, in his case Mossimo actually think he IS a dog. Seriously. His foster home has four dogs, two large dogs & two small dogs. When it's time for the dogs to go outside to potty, Mossimo races outside with them. Then he'll hide and ambush the dogs or run around playing chase with them. For this reason, you would have to be extra careful about keeping Mossimo indoors. He has no fear of dogs and would be very vulnerable to attack since he wouldn't know to run when he saw a strange dog. One day, the neighbor dog came to visit and play in our back yard, and Mossimo started running around like he normally does. That dog saw him running, went into prey drive, and almost bit "Mo". Since then we've curtailed some of his Dog Time. While Mo has his dog traits, he's still all about cats. He and his brother play rough and tumble all around the house and he gets along with all of his foster friends. He will go around and wash faces and sleep on top of any kitty that doesn't get cranky with him for doing so.

In addition to being perfect about getting along with other animals, Mossimo is a wonderful human companion. He will follow you all throughout the house and if he gets caught in a different room, he'll use his Maine Coon voice to find out where you are. He sleeps on the bed at night and sits on the couch with you to watch TV in the evenings. He's going to be your best buddy, the cat of a lifetime if you're lucky enough to choose him.
This is one great kitty but we realize his "domestic" characteristics make him harder to place than our normal flashy looking cats. For that reason, we have reduced his adoption fee to $75 just to give him a fighting chance at finding a new home. Frankly, since Mo is the nicest cat in the house, we think he's worth twice the normal fee! Also, if he is lucky enough to be adopted with his brother Curious, then we'll just make it a two for one deal. You'll only pay the fee for Curious. The boys are very bonded and sleep together and groom each other. It would be shame to separate them but we can't hold Curious back if his brother can't go with him.
