Phoenix's Story...
Phoenix is a 2 year old chocolate lab. He seemed to have lost his way and ended up homeless. This beautiful, muscular chocolate boy is a nice size weighing in at only 53 lbs. He rides well in the car and loves to look our the window at his surroundings. He needs a little leash walking work but all in all, he is a sweet boy! Phoenix gets a little nervous walking on slick floors...not sure he has spent much time on tile or hardwoods...but he will get that figured out in time. Phoenix loves to be pet and hugged on. If you are looking for a lab that is a little on the smaller side, then look no farther...Phoenix is the one for you!

UPDATE FROM DRIVER: In the short time I was with Pheonix, he appeared to be a playful, energetic boy, with a little bit of goofiness. He found a dog toy in my back seat and had the best time playing with on the drive. He loved looking out the window and rode very well in the car. Unfortunately, he is heartworm positive, but he would never let you know it. Whenever you look at him, all you see that happy labbie smile. Stay posted for more updates on this fun guy.

UPDATE: Phoenix is all finished with heartworm treatment and ready to go to a new home :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoenix, a Cumming Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cumming, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cumming.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cumming already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cumming breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cumming paves the way for another one to be saved.
