My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a dog who can keep up with you on your run (mountain bike ride or hike) as well as snuggle with you on the couch afterwards? If so, Grace (aka: Gracie Lou) is your girl! Gracie is a beautiful 1-2 yr old female tri-color border collie. She is as smart as she is beautiful. In just over a week she was house-broken, crate-trained and well on her way to mastering basic obedience commands (e.g., sit, stay, come). She walks well on a leash (if you can walk fast!) and can run for miles (she runs 5 miles daily with her foster mom and has even completed an 8 miler, no problem!). She is the proverbial Velcro dog. The only thing Gracie loves more than exercise is hanging with “her person” (the closer the better). She is content to sit at your feet while you work at the computer or sit by your side while you watch your favorite TV show (she’s partial to Glee and Grey’s Anatomy!). When she finally does get tired, she will cuddle up close and snore softly in your ear. While Gracie will sleep in a doggie bed or crate without fuss; she would prefer to be snuggled down at your feet on your bed. Typical of her breed she can be a bit bossy and herdy with other dogs (particularly those that threaten her “authority” or attempt to steal away the “control” she desires). She is also a bit shy with strangers and unsure of strange/new situations as well as strange/new dogs. Her foster mom is working on her “social skills” and trust issues and has already seen some promising progress.
