My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HEIDI IS A VERY SPECIAL DOG LOOKING FOR A VERY SPECIAL HOME!!!!

Corgi rescue was contacted about Heidi's situation a couple of months ago. Heidi has a possible liver shunt. She was born with this condition, an abnormal blood vessel that causes blood to bypass her liver instead of going to the liver. As she grew, she started to outgrow her liver. Not even 2 years old yet, Heidi is doing amazingly well with her foster owners. She's on a special diet and medication to support her liver. But Heidi may need surgery to correct the liver shunt, so she can do even better.
Working with her foster owners, the veterinary surgeons, and CorgiAid, we've made arrangements to have Heidi evaluated to see if she needs surgery or will be better off with continued medical management. MANY THANKS TO CORGIAID FOR GIVING US A GRANT TO HELP PAY FOR HER MEDICAL EXPENSES AND SURGERY!!!! She's a bright, happy corgi who will soon be looking for a very special FOREVER home with someone who will accept her with her medical needs.

iF YOU HAVE ROOM IN YOUR HOME & HEART FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL LITTLE LADY, PLEASE CONTACT MISSIE OR LYN AT (918) 663-7595 OR okcorgirescue@sbcglobal.net. We will be accepting serious applications at this time.

UPDATE - Heidi had exploratory surgery, but the severity of her liver shunt prevented it from being repaired. They were able to go ahead & spay her for us, though! She's recovering well and will hopefully be heading to a new adoptive home in Illinois very soon!!
