Darcy's Story...
Darcy is the sweetest little yellow purebred girl. She is 5 years old and is on the small side weighing about 45lbs. Darcy is very mild mannered and has good house manners. She does not jump, chew up shoes, and she is house trained and does not get on the furniture. She is good on lead, takes treats nicely and knows how to sit. When Darcy first came to her foster home, she was completely annoyed by the other dogs and wished them to be banished from earth, but as she has been in the home for a few weeks, she has learned to tolerate them (and I even saw her licking her foster brother’s face). She will be a great dog to take on walks around the neighborhood and would definitely love to curl up on her dog bed, chewing a bone and hanging with her people. Darcy is very lovable and just soaks up her humane affection and good girl pats on the head. She is an easy dog and will do great in a home with men, women, and older children (and cats if she must share the attention). Darcy is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. If you are interested in making this wonderful girl part of your family, please fill out an online application and request her on the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darcy, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
