Selma's Story...
Selma is a sweet, gentle older girl who deserves to live the rest of her years surrounded by the comfort and love that seemed to have been lacking in her earlier years. She arrived at the shelter dirty and flea-ridden, but with a good shampoo and an effective flea treatment, Selma now appears much happier. She has the sweetest disposition: on a walk, during which she never pulls and responds readily to correction, she will curl up in your lap at a bench-stop and look out at the pond peacefully. Selma seems to sense that she is in good hands, for she relaxes quickly and generously bestows kisses, as any good pit bull will. It is obvious that Selma will make a wonderful, loyal, grateful companion to the luck person who opens their heart and home to her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Selma, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
