Have you ever seen a birch tree bloom on a sunny summer’s day? Well, let me tell you friend, it’s like a little glimpse into my soul, my heart, and my overall being…I have a grand purple and green aura that surrounds my head like the northern lights. I am a mighty being, a humble being, and most of all a living, loving being in need of a home. I’ve spent my years following Phish and Floater from show to show, I settled down in Eugene for a while, then went up to Evergreen and got a degree in sustainable landscape architecture. Along my travels I learned to be gentle and loving with other dogs, respectful children, and even cats. I get along with everyone, it’s all about my Chakra, man…I’m even keel, ya know? Surely I can bring the balance needed to your life! 3 years old-11lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and it includes; neuter, microchip, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Birch, a Portland Dachshund/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Basenji for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund/Basenji dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Basenji breeders who help with Dachshund/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
