Trooper's Story...
Trooper showed up suddenly outside our rescuer's house - probably dumped. He immediately began rubbing up against legs and showing what a sweet young gentleman he is! He is so cute with his enormous cheeks and teeny little eyes! Hard to capture his looks in a photo - being a blonde he blinks with the flash a lot! Trooper did test positive for FIV. FIV affects the immune system and rarely causes any issues when the cat is an indoor and well fed cat. FIV does not require any expensive medicines or treatments whatsoever, and cats with this live perfectly long and healthy lives. FIV can not be passed to other cats unless by deep bite wound and he is such a gentle neutered boy, so that will never happen. Please read more about FIV before turning away from Trooper: http://www.bestfriends.org/theanimals/petcare/cats_fiv.cfm

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trooper, a West Trenton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in West Trenton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in West Trenton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Trenton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Trenton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Trenton paves the way for another one to be saved.
