Talley's Story...
Talley is a wonderful, young (about 3 years old) cocker-blend gal who found herself in rescue.

Talley has a lot of wonderful qualities, *however* she is very wary of strangers. Talley will bark and be growly with new people. Anyone interested in adopting Talley will need to meet her with the understanding that Talley will not immediately happy to greet them. (She will view the new family as strangers). It takes a day or several for Talley to accept a stranger as her best friend. Once she knows you, she’s very sweet and affectionate.

Talley would do best in a quiet household with adults. She loves women but she adores men.

Talley’s tail always wags when we come home and she does her happy greeting. She enjoys walks, treats and affection. Talley will definitely snuggle up next to you on the couch and sleep with you in bed. She enjoys chewing on nylabones & cow bones. She is friendly to other dogs & will play with them – as long as she can be the boss.

Talley is smart & knows what she wants. She needs an experienced owner who will set limits for her. She is sweet, but she’ll use a combination of sweetness and bossiness to get her way. She is also quick to countersurf. (LOL - Foster mom lost a slice of pizza from the table when Talley snatched it and wolfed it down).

Talley knows sit and stay. She is house trained and crate trained and gets along fine with other dogs (as long as she can be the boss). Talley is healthy, spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and is on heartworm preventative. She is about 32 lbs (and needs to drop a pound or two ;). She loves to eat.

Talley’s history: Talley was abandoned at a city shelter in Bolivar, Missouri. New England Brittany Rescue sprung her from the shelter, before she was euthanized. Talley stayed with a family in Missouri for several weeks before coming to Western New York.

Talley's adoption fee is $200. A home visit and meet 'n greet is required. We can travel up to 100-150 miles from Buffalo, NY for the meet 'n greet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Talley, a Buffalo Cocker Spaniel/English Setter dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel/English Setter for sale in Buffalo, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel/English Setter dog from a breeder in Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel/English Setter breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel/English Setter rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
