My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.**

Zelda is a 5 yr old, mixed breed dog, weighing about 50 lbs. She was adopted her about 4 yrs ago. She was brought to from a kill shelter in the south. Unfortunately, her current family's lives have changed enough that they feel like they no longer can provide her with the attention she needs and deserves.

Zelda is a very sweet girl – she loves to play and be petted. She is fairly well trained, responding to many commands, including "come", "no bark", "wait", "back-up", "sit", "lay down" and "get-your-ball". The ideal living situation for Zelda would be a house with kids (she loves kids and is very gentle with them), no cat (unless the cat is aggressive enough to teach Zelda boundaries), and someone who will take her on regular, daily walks (she is typically walked for 20-40 min, twice a day). She is good around other dogs as long as they are not aggressive - she will defend herself when provoked.

The vet thinks she is a beagle hound mix, possibly a "blue tick beagle". She is mostly black with brown legs and underbelly, speckled chest and chin, and grey around her muzzle. She has been spayed and is very healthy (i.e. no Lyme disease or heartworm, etc.)
