Guinevere's Story...
Good day
Guinevere is an athletic young dog with many puppy behaviors. She
loves to run, play, chew, and romp but can settle down in her crate for
quiet time once her energy is spent. Small dogs seem suspicious to her
until she knows them, so
she needs to be watched carefully around those strange looking small
furry things. Big dogs are
usually just fine and she would love either a home with another playful
dog or one where she is the queen.
This elegant looking girl spends much of her day outside by choice. She
goes in and
out the doggie door to check on things and monitor all squirrel
activity periodically. Guinevere is crated when nobody is home. As
with many loyal German Shepherds she is emotional and doesn't like to
be left
behind when her people leave. Separation anxiety was a temporary issue
with Guinevere. We expect her to be nervous and confused for a while
when rehomed, but once she bonds with her new family she will be a
faithful and happy dog again. This adjustment period will take some
patience and close supervision as well as a crate. Obedience training
would be a perfect way to give her some bonding time, an outlet for her
athletic nature, and a sense of security.

Guinevere is ready to be adopted. Please know that due to a medical
emergency it was necessary to amputate most of her tail. In spite of
this unfortunate necessity, she is still as beautiful as ever with a
wonderful and happy disposition

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Guinevere, a Houston German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
