My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THERE IS A VERY URGENT NEED FOR US TO FIND A WONDERFUL HOME (OR ANOTHER FOSTER HOME) FOR THIS PUP ASAP! Please read her description and feel free to pass it along to anyone you know who may be interested.

Mandy is a 2-year-old, 75 pound Rottweiler-Husky mix gal who was taken in from a high kill shelter down in Macomb County. She is playful, loveable, gentle and very very cuddly while being just a tad bit on the protective side every once in a while. (Although you wouldn’t really know it to meet her.) Her favorite thing (besides taking up the entire bed when she cuddles you at night) is to give kisses, play fetch with sticks and roll around in on a freshly cut lawn.

She absolutely loves to go on walks and does very well on-leash even though she is still learning the finer points of the whole ‘heel’ concept. Mandy also has mastered (inside) quite a few of her basic commands including ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘shake’ and wait.

While not a good candidate to live with cats, birds or other smaller critters, our girl has done fabulous with the other (larger) dogs she has met. Smaller dogs have not been thoroughly tested with her as of yet, although she does enjoy playing through the fence with some of the ones that live next door. Chasing games appear to be her favorite and we have yet to see any aggressive barking or posturing when she comes across them.

In general, we really feel that Mandy is a wonderful, great and loving girl and that any family who gets a chance to have her in their home could really be winning the ‘golden ticket’.

Mandy is up to date on all vaccines, has been de-wormed, is heartworm negative and will be spayed before any adoption is finalized.
