My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ft Lauderdale, FL
Peanut is neutered male, 7-10 years old, 18 pounds, and housebroken. He was found lost in a rough part of Miami. He does have a microchip, but the company said that he had already been surrendered to a shelter. It is probable that he was adopted from the shelter, and was then discarded or got away from the adopter. That person could not be found. Peanut has been with the family who found him since June, and they feel he is a delight. He has good house manners, and gets along well with other dogs. He barely even seems to notice cats. Peanut loves car rides and walks well on a leash. He sits on command, and just wants to cuddle up in your lap any time you're sitting still. He follows readily. He loves treats! Peanut can be a little hand-shy around strange people, and if he is handled too forcefully. He will gladly jump down from the couch with a verbal command while you point to the floor - just don't push him off with your hand or he'll get scared! For this reason, we would not recommend he go to a home with small children (although the toddlers who visit his current home have played with him without a problem so far).

Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he has been fortunate enough to remain in his current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.
