My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, new friends! I'm a beautiful bichon by the name of Angel (which is short for Michaelangelo) and I'm a happy, healthy and loving senior bichon. I'm about 16 pounds of love and cuddles in a very mellow and handsome body.

Once upon a time I had a Dad, and we were best of friends and companions. When my Dad died he asked a friend of his to love and take care of me. What happened next was not what Dad expected. His friend felt guilty for saying he would, but knew in his heart, he didn't want a dog. He left me alone a lot and didn't take care of me. I know Dad would never have thought his friend would do such a thing. It would have made him sad - and very angry.

But then my BFK aunties stepped in. They placed me in a loving foster home with a great mom and a doggy foster brother. I now have lots of love and company in my life! And I think Dad is smiling down on all of us.
My foster mom thinks I am a great guy (thanks, Mom!). She says to tell you that I have lots of energy for an older guy. Why, I jump out of bed every morning and run around like a young pup! I am so excited that it's a brand new day! When Mom gets the leash out for a walk, I am so happy! I love my walks! (That's how I keep my boyish figure!) And I love to play! My foster brother and I get along great; we stick together just like all best friends do!

Most of all, I love people! (I've been practicing loving people all of my life!) I also love to receive love! Rub my tummy and I'll be your friend for life. I think kids and grandkids are great. I love to be with them and appreciate the attention they give me. (Mom's grandkids give great belly rubs!) I am housebroken, of course, and I love to go for long car rides. I don't bark very often, and I can be left at home when the family goes out. At night, after the excitement of the day, I curl up in my little bed and go to sleep like a little Angel.

You can probably tell that I'm quite a special little guy. Mom says I'm even more special because I enjoy life and all it has to offer, even though I don't hear very much at all. My aunties discovered that my hearing loss is permanent, and on top of that, I have difficulty seeing, too. Mom says I see and hear with my heart - and that's what matters the most! She says I understand and even intuit what people want me to know.

There is no doubt that I give and receive love, openly and whole-heartedly, and have the best disposition in the world. She thinks there is a loving person or family who will love me, just the way I am, a family that wants an angel of its very own!
If you are that family or person, please complete an application and ask for Angel. I promise to see all the way into your heart and to love you forever.

Love and more love,
Awesome and Adoreable Angel
