My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Clyde is a very sweet and loving puppy who was brought up to NY from a shelter in Kentucky. Clyde came to our home on 12/23, and seemed very happy and grateful to be out of the shelter. Clyde absolutely loves all people! He is a cuddle/snuggle bug and just loves sitting in the lap of anyone who will give him love and attention. He gets along well with kids of all ages, and absolutely loves playing with the two year old in his foster home. Clyde also enjoys playing with other dogs, and would probably benefit from having another companion to play with! We believe Clyde is a Springer Spaniel/Beagle mix. His coat, tail and markings are characteristic of a Springer Spaniel. His classic howl leads us to believe he also has some Beagle. Clyde had a wonderful Christmas (spoiled with lots of toys, bones, treats, and love from his foster family) and his New Years wish is to find his forever home that will continue to do the same! Clyde loves going for walks, even in the snow. He enjoys car rides, and trips to the pet store! He especially loves playing a game of fetch the ball or bone with the 2 year old in his foster home, and his foster dog sister, Zoey. Clyde would be most happiest in a family where he could have another dog playmate or two, or some kids that will play with him. He would adjust well to just about any situation, if you are an active person that has the time to give him the walks he needs, then maybe Clyde is the dog for you! He is a very well-behaved boy for a puppy. He already understands "No" and we are working on other basic commands with him, including sit, stay, come and down. Clyde is also a sensitive boy, he would not respond well to any harsh treatment or words, he would probably just shut down. I mention this because he gets very upset when he knows he has done something wrong, like having an accident on the carpet, and he will go right into his crate without being asked. Clyde has done exceptionally well in his house-training skills, he has only had a couple accidents here and there and has been learning quickly that he goes potty outside! Also, Clyde is tolerant of cats, he tried to play with our cat the day we brought him home, but when he realized she didn't want to play, he left her alone and has since. Clyde is truly an adorable puppy, and his pictures do NOT do him justice, he is much more adorable in person! Clyde is waiting for his "soulmate" or "forever family" to take him home and love and cherish him forever for the wonderful dog that he is!
