Jimbo's Story...
Note from his last owner: "Jimbo came to my house as a rescue/siezure about 2 years ago. The folks he was taken from had him in about an acre pasture. They never trimmed his feet, and when they wanted to catch him they would get 5 or 6 people together to ‘help’. They would then ‘terrorize him’ by chasing him with whips and hats into a corner of the pasture, where he would tremble until he was haltered. I asked around some of the ‘old timers’ from the area who advised that about 10 years earlier he was riden around regularly by a 12 year old boy, before changing owners. During his two years at my place he has basically been a pasture pet. I have not done a lot with him, other than haltering, hoof trimming, and a little lead work. Once you have gained his trust, Jimbo will do just about anything. At his last trimming, the farrier knelt on the ground under him to ‘finish’ filing his pedicure."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jimbo, a Sac Mustang was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mustang for sale in Sac, or seeking a Mustang from a breeder in Sac.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sac already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sac breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mustang breeders who help with Mustang rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sac paves the way for another one to be saved.
