Ginger's Story...
Ginger was born: 5-20-1989 - Note from the last owner: "I outbid some killer buyers for Ginger at an auction about 4-1/2 years ago. She was used as a broodmare where they were pasture bred and ran loose on 500 acres. The ONLY handling they had was being run through the shoots in the Spring for shots, and in the fall to separate the mares from their foals. No history is known prior to that time.
Ginger is a gorgeous mare who I feel wants desperately to trust someone. She is wary, but gains confidence quickly when worked one on one with a natural training approach. She needs help learning that she can relax around people. I worked very little with her, but the times I did I was able to accomplish a lot, quickly. Working with natural training methods, and Expecting good results from her, within an hour she was being haltered and easily led."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Sac Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in Sac, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in Sac.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sac already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sac breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sac paves the way for another one to be saved.
