Sugar's Story...
Sugar is a very sweet, quiet, calm and gentle, 18-month-old, female Turkish Van or mix with gorgeous golden eyes looking for a loving home. She is all white except for a smudge of grey on her head and tail. Sugar was found as a stray in a south side Chicago feral colony. She is anything but feral. She is sugar sweet, loving and lovely. This young lady deserves to celebrate the new year with a loving family. She seems fine with other cats, and he is wonderfully loving with people of all ages. You can hear Sugar purring from across the room. She just loves to be pet and cuddled. She has perfect litter box habits and has all her nails, but is so gentle and never scratches. She spends her days looking out the window, and sleeping on the couch. But when she sees you, she rolls over for a belly rub. Sugar is extremely healthy, virus-tested, spayed, micro-chipped, de-wormed, and vaccinated for distemper and rabies. Her adoption fee of $50 benefits rescued pets. To meet and possibly adopt Sugar, please contact her foster mom Marsha at or 773-772-2123

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar, a Chicago Turkish Van cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Turkish Van for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Turkish Van cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Turkish Van breeders who help with Turkish Van rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
