Chocolata's Story...
Hello there! I must have been named for my sweet nature since I’d be called Caramel if it’d been for my color fur. Hey – caramel is sweet too so I’m actually sweet inside and out! I am a pretty, slightly wistful, little 15 lb Chihuahua Min Pin mix. With one ear up and one ear down people smile and say I’m comical but little do they know that I am just a fashionista, way ahead of the two-ears-in-the-same-direction fashion!
I was found as a stray by a kind person who brought me to MaxFund. My family was found and contacted but they didn’t want me back if I was spayed. Obviously they didn’t really want me – just my pups. I am only about 3 years old but I have had several litters of puppies. Right now I am very much looking forward to being able to play and have fun with no maternal responsibilities!

I am affectionate and I have got on with everyone I have met since coming to MaxFund. I like other friendly small dogs but I am a bit afraid of dogs larger than me. I will have to meet more cats before I know if I could live with one.

Walks are great and I am a good girl on my leash. I wear a harness at MaxFund and it works well for me. I am an active little girl and I enjoy running and playing in the yard as well. The folks here believe I am crate trained since I don’t like getting my kennel dirty.

Going for a walk is fun so please come by to MaxFund and lets take a turn around the park. Remember, my name is Chocolata and I am the sweet, little caramel-colored dog in the Small Dog Room!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chocolata, a Denver Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Denver, or seeking a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
