Connor's Story...
Connor is an extremely handsome, happy, energetic and friendly, 75-pound, two-year-old, male Great Dane/Labrador-mix looking for the perfect home. Connor was dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control after being hit by a car. His family couldn't afford expensive orthopedic surgery, so they decided to give him up instead. Connor’s leg has been repaired and he is getting ready to live a normal life again after his accident. He still has a lot of puppyish energy so he’s looking for an experienced dog lover with older children who can participate in his training. He will do just about anything for a treat so that should help in his schooling. He is great with other dogs and loves to play. Connor is very healthy, de-wormed, micro-chipped, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative. If you would like to meet, and possibly adopt handsome Connor, please contact Kathleen at kbudrean@hotmail.com or 312-823-9930. His adoption fee of $95 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Connor, a Chicago Great Dane/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane/Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Great Dane/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Great Dane/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
