Leila's Story...
Leila is a young adult who's had a very difficult life so far and she needs a fresh start - can you help her? In the past, Leila was physically abused by a man and she spent most of her day living in fear. She is now safe in a foster home but she does have some emotional scars. Leila really wants attention and enjoys chin rubs, head scratches & play time, but fast movements still startle her. She's torn between the affection that she craves & her lack of trust in people.

Leila is doing very well in her foster home & is developing a trusting relationship with her foster mom. Here is what her foster mom says about her:

Leila is a very sweet kitty who clearly wants to forge new relationships, she's just not sure how. After only a few days she went from hiding in the corner, to meowing at me when I was near & taking treats from my hands. She now rolls around & looks for head rubs every chance she has. Leila loves chasing string & feather toys and she loves running up & down her scratching post. She is nervous when visitors come to see her but she's curious. She LOVES my cats & although they aren't too sure about her, she takes every opportunity to watch them and interact with them.

Although Leila has come a very long way already she will need to start fresh in a new home & it will take her some time to acclimate to any new environment. It is vitally important that Leila go to a quiet home where there are no children and no men. Leila will be most comfortable living with a single female or perhaps a female couple. We would like for her to go to a home with other cats that she can learn from & make friends with.

Leila is a sweetheart and will become a great companion for someone. It is important that she finds a home with someone who has experience building trust with shy cats. She needs someone who will have patience while she adjusts to her new home, and who will give her all of the love that she deserves. If you can provide a good home for Leila please email us at victoriapets@gmail.com, she is currently in foster care. She deserves for find a wonderful, loving home soon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leila, a Saanichton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Saanichton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Saanichton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saanichton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saanichton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saanichton paves the way for another one to be saved.
