Jake's Story...
Jake is a 9-10 month old lab mix that was abandoned in Washington County. He was brought to Pet Search by a family who Jake "chose" to adopt. When scanned, it was discovered that he was microchipped, but not registered with Avid. Pet Search contacted the animal shelter that microchipped him, to find that there were no records of a dog with his microchip number! After future searches for his owner, Jake was officially put into the Pet Search foster program! He is wonderful with other animals and is very much of a puppy! Jake does not like stuffed toys that have "faces" (he chews those!), but is a great dog in every way!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Washington Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Washington, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
