Cody's Story...
Posted January 28th. Meet Cody a very sweet 14 week old puppy weighing about 21 pounds. Cody has double back dew claws which may mean he has some Saint Bernard, Great Pyrenees even Beagle in his mix, but he will in no way be that big based on his current weight. We believe he may grow to be around 60 pounds, which is our best guess.

Please note we are a rescue and we know very little about the animals’ background, breed and size at maturity is our best guess.

Cody is a very, very sweet smart puppy with a wonderful temperament. His foster mom says he is a very smart, sweet, gentle tempered boy that will make a wonderful pete. Cody is currently being fostered in an Elk Grove Village home with his sister Sasha along with other dogs and a cat and he is fine with them all. We have not seen and alpha behavior, food or bone aggression. Cody came from a high kill shelter and is waiting for you to give him a new life.

Cody is playful, affectionate, loves being held and sitting in your lab. He is a great snuggle and will really make a great companion. He enjoys playing in the backyard with the other dogs…even in this cold weather, and has no problem going outside to go potty. At night Cody sleeps in a crate next to the foster parents bed and is doing very well with the crate training. He sleeps all night, although he does get up early needing to get up and go outside to potty.

The adoption fee of $250.00 includes his neutering (done when age appropriate, but paid for by Angels On Wheels), microchip, 1st and 2nd puppy vaccinations, dewormed with Panacure and Droncit, treated with revolution for the prevention of fleas, mites and heartworm, along with a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic.. The adoption also comes with 25% off an obedience class at Lucky Dog Academy in Plainfield, a free 30 minute evaluation with a certified pet trainer at Petco, along with a Petco coupon booklet which includes 50% off your first bag of food.

Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save these animals and provide a home environment while they are waiting for their forever home.

If you would like to meet this beautiful puppy, an adoption application must first be submitted. You can go to angelsonwheelsanimalrescue.com to download an application or email sspratl@gmail.com and we will be happy to email you one.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals, and wanting to give them a wonderful home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Naperville Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard puppy from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
