Hi! My name is Luna. I'm a 3 year old Pit Bull mix. My foster mom thinks that I'm very pretty because my fur is a fawn brindle with a silver tint. Everyone comments on how beautiful my hazel eyes are. People also comment on my tiny ears. My foster mom says that someone was cruel to me because they cut my ears with scissors when I was a puppy. She thinks who ever owned me was trying to make me look like a tough girl. Now I have little nubs for ears. Foster mom giggles when I move them all around. She says that I don't have a tough bone in my body. Between you and me, she's right... I'm not very tough at all. I was found wandering the streets in Brooklyn. Animal Care and Control took me to the shelter and I was so scared. All of the barking and the bad smells frightened me so I sat in the back of my kennel trembling. I was in the shelter for 2 whole months. The shelter staff knew that my time was coming to an end so they pleaded for someone to help me. That's when my foster mom came to my rescue! At first, I was afraid. My foster mom reached out to me and I flinched as I crawled over to her. She scooped me into her arms, kissed my head, and whispered that I was going to be just fine. It was time to go home.

When I arrived at my foster home, I met my 55 pound canine foster sister. We love to play chase and relax in the sun together. She's very calm and her energy makes me feel calm too. I also like to greet the dogs in my neighborhood. Foster mom says that I'm a polite greeter. Cats? Well.... I really want to chase the cats that we see on our walks, so foster mom thinks that I would do best in a home without feline friends. I REALLY enjoy meeting people! Foster mom is so proud of me because I was a little shy when I first came to live with her. Now I greet men, women, and children with a wagging tail. I love when people pet me. I like to lean into the person; I might even sneak in a little kiss.

Foster mom says that I'm an awesome dog! I'm very smart. I've learned many commands like: sit, stay, down, wait, come, and leave it. She says that I am an easy going gal. I like playing with my toys, chewing on my bones, and going for walks; but my favorite thing to do is sit by the window and watch the world go by. I do need my exercise, so a nice walk and a good game of fetch is important for me every day. When I'm sleepy, I like to snuggle close to my foster mom. She lets me curl my 60 pound, sausage body right next to her at bedtime.

Foster mom says that I'm a good girl. I'm calm, sweet, and very loving. She says that I'm the whole package and that I'm only missing one thing... my forever home. Could you be the family that I've been waiting for?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luna PENDING, a Raritan American Pit Bull Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Raritan, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Raritan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Raritan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Raritan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Raritan paves the way for another one to be saved.
