Foxy's Story...
Hi! My name is Foxy and I am a 5 pound bundle of attitude! My rescuers think I am about 8 to 9 years old, but they aren't sure. I was a breeder in a puppy mill and, unfortunately, it has left its mark. I will need an experienced adopter because I can be very defensive and guarded until I know I can trust you. Once I know I can trust you, I am the sweetest little dog, unless I feel trapped and then I still freak out a little bit. I may never be what you would call a cuddly dog, but I do like to play peek a boo and get scritches. I do enjoy car rides and short walks. I am kennel trained, can use a dog door and will use a pee pad if I don't have access to the outdoors. I get along with other animals, as long as they realize I am the boss! I am wary of new people and children, but when treats are involved, I will tolerate both. My adoption fee of $200 includes my spay, dental, microchipping, heartworm test, and all vaccinations, If you would like to meet me, please visit www.softplacetoland.org and fill out an application!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Foxy, a Ft. Collins Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Ft. Collins, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Ft. Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
