Sauzke is Adopted
Sauzke (Sookie) is currently fostered in Mentor Ohio, and his adoption donation is $300
Sauzke is a beautiful 2 yr old red male cocker spaniel.
He came into our rescue because his previous owners felt they did not have time for him, and he was basically living in a crate 24/7.
He is a very sweet cocker boy, however it is obvious that he was never worked with and he needs someone that will teach him manners and housetraining.
He is doing well in foster care, and he is definitely very smart, as well as eager to please.
We do not feel that his lack of manners and housetraining will be a problem to overcome, because he is responding nicely to his training in his foster home.
He is not a bad dog at all, he just needs to be taught, and it is not his fault that no one ever took the time to work with him.
He has a very sweet disposition, and he is really fun and playful.
He gets along with the other dogs in foster care, however he does need to be fed seperately because he gets over excited with his food, and will growl when another dog comes near him while he is eating.
He is fine when his foster gets near his food, in fact, he shows no food aggression with people at all, his foster can put her hand in his food while he is eating, and he does not growl or show food aggression, it seems to be only with other dogs.
Feeding him seperately works well, and he is fine otherwise.
Sauzke is a very happy cocker boy. He is very new to rescue, and we are working with him on his training, and food manners.
Sauzke is a great dog, he is affectionate and very friendly to anyone and everyone he meets, his tail is always wagging, and he is learning to listen by simple correction.
His foster feels that all he needs is basic training, and someone who is willing to take the time, and continue to teach him boundaries.
He enjoys playing with his toys, and snuggling with his foster, he follows her everywhere.
He LOVES his bath time, and will jump right into the tub on his own when he sees the water running.
You have to watch him on this, because if you are filling the tub for yourself and not him, he doesn't know any better, and will jump right in, it is so funny.
He also does very well with grooming, his foster put him up on the grooming table, and he stood there for her without any resistance during his haircut.
Sauzke has so much potential, and is showing progress quickly, his foster is optimistic that he will excell in his training, and make a very nice addition to the right family.
According to his former owner, he is good with children, as well as cats, however, he is not currently fostered with either of them.
Sauzke is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and is micro-chipped.
