Melody's Story...
Melody is a three month old black lab mix. She's doing great in her foster home and quickly learning how great it is to have a family. Melody loves to play with her foster sister and gets along great with other dogs. After playtime she follows her foster sister outside and is learning quickly what business is done where! Melody is crate trained and quickly learning the household rules. She's a smart girl and would love to find a family all her own. Please give Melody a second look. Remember black dogs often don't photograph very well and because of this they sometimes look less expressive. But Melody is very expressive and deserves a wonderful forever home to go with her wonderful personality. For more information on Melody please call 618-282-7387. Melody is up to date with routine shots, micro-chipped and is altered. We will only adopt out within 75 miles of our shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melody, a Columbia Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
