My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Ajax, a loving, 2 year old male Shepherd mix who has known nothing
but years of violence and brutality, yet has survived with his heart intact.
******
He wandered into the school one rainy day with his girlfriend...a chihuahua mix. She was locked inside the school gates and hiding in the bushes. Ajax patiently waited on the other side of the fence for her to find her way out so they could wander off together. A teacher instantly fell in love with those sad eyes of his and offered to take him off the animal control officers hands. She noticed immediately that he had scars all over his legs, some on his face and ears. Later, further inspection revealed that his front teeth and canines had been filled down completely, all the way to his gums, and he was missing a claw. He had probably been been a bait dog... the bottom of the barrel in the dogfighting world.
******
Despite his past, Ajax is sweet and affectionate, and loves people. He is laid-back and is great with his foster parent's pre-teen god-daughter and other older children. He prefers to be inside with you and curl up on the couch. He also loves to play catch and he’s even learning to return it...if you have a treat!
******
Ajax is slowly gaining weight now and weighs about 55 lbs. He has been neutered, microchipped, and given his shots, and has been given a clean bill of health He is potty-trained, crate-trained, and good with dogs. He’d be a great addition to any home where he can happily live out his second chance at life.
