My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PASSED AWAY 5/26/07: Chirp is an old boy in need of a retirement home. He was adopted from GHP in 2003 but returned recently due to the previous owners dog attacking him. He has two scars on his shoulders from the bite, but otherwise shows no signs of being bitten. He is between 12-13 years old and needs a combination of wet and dry cat food due to having few teeth. Chirp is a very loving cat and will ask for attention every chance he gets. He is named Chirp because he doesn't meow-he chirps. So the name stuck. He is litterbox trained, neutered, and up-to-date on shots. He really likes to be left alone by other cats and dogs, so he'd probably prefer to be the only pet in the house. He does get along with children but since he doesn't like to be prodded or poked, if children are in the house we ask they be 8 years of age or older.

We ask that Chirp goes to a home with NO large, aggressive dogs. Please see photo and call or email for more information (if you email us please expect a delay in getting back to you). He MUST be kept in-doors AT ALL TIMES.... or allowed outside supervised WITH a leash and harness on (also could have a cat-proof fenced yard). Adoption includes an application, house-visit, contract, and fee. We offer a reduced adoption fee if 2 cats or kittens are adopted by the same family. By signing our contract, adoptees agree to return their kitties to GHP if for any reason they can't be kept any longer. People within a 50 mile radius of Colorado Springs get adoption priority due to transportation restrictions unless I can find someone to do out-of-town adoptions (this is pending). NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a volunteer to do home visits in the Denver area please let me know ASAP! Chirp would love to have a forever home.
