My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Goldie (female) COULD HAVE BEEN HUMAN FOOD!
I’m a super-sweet 8 month old catahoula/pit mix of some sort. I was found by some very nice people at a Fina station in Shreveport. The attendant at the Fina station said that they eat dogs where he comes from… and my rescuers didn’t take that lightly. I looked at my rescuers and they knew they HAD to get me away from there! They brought me to Pet Savers for pictures and shots so that I can find a forever home where I’ll be treated as a member of the family and not be EATEN! Pet Savers knows there are countries where dogs are eaten and it makes them sad and angry that they don’t see what Americans see in us. At least I know I’m safe now. My rescuers are working on my housetraining and they said I’m doing really good. I’m great with kids, other dogs, and even cats. I travel well in a car and walk good on a leash. I’m still a puppy, but rawhides and chew toys keep me busy. I’ve had my 7in1 shot, but still need to be spayed and get my rabies vaccination. If you’d like to meet me, please contact Jennifer at 318-949-3522. There is a screening process to adopt me and my adoption fee is a suggested donation to Pet Savers of $30 for their help in rehoming me and to help assure I go to a good home. Once you adopt me, PLEASE get me spayed/neutered to help control the HUGE overpopulation and euthanasia rate in this area. Robinson’s Rescue low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (Shreveport) offers special low-cost pricing for spaying and neutering. Call 318-861-0101 for your spay/neuter appointment ONLY, not about me!
