Meet the sweetest boy on the block, Jersey! He came to BAPBR on 11/30/10 from the Crescent City, CA pound (Del Norte County Animal Control), as a stray. He waited for 6 months at the pound before BAPBR pulled him from the dark, cold, lonely pound. He is about 18 months old, probably an American Bulldog/Pit Bull mix, about 65lbs, a very friendly pup who lives for attention and affection from people. If you want a LOVING, AFFECTIONATE, COMPANION dog, then this is your dog! Jersey would rather follow you around and snuggle, than play with other dogs. This is a people dog, not a dog-dog.
What we know about Jersey so far:
Extremely loving and affectionate. Wants to be a lap dog. LOVES people, but would do best in a home with no young/small children since he does still have puppy manners. He is just a silly, happy, goofy kind-of-dog, with a heart of gold.
Crate trained(quite in his crate) and house broken 100%
He goes to the door and sits to let you know when he needs to go out for potty.
Food motivated = easy to train.
Listens very well and is eager to please you. He is looking for a leader and would best with an experienced dog owner who can continue training him.
Couch potato and LOVES to snuggle on pillows and watch movies with you!
Energy level is 4 out of 10.
Already knows sit and stay
He would do best with a mellow submissive female or as the only pet
Walks nice on the leash
Will bark if someone rings the door bell – He is a good alarm system!
Jersey’s ideal home would be with a retired couple/person, (someone who spends a lot of time at home) who has lots of time to cuddle with him, who live on some property where Jersey can run around and investigate with no kids or small animals. He thinks it’s fun to chase, cats, squirrels and other rodents. He would do a great job at keeping critters out of your garden.

Jersey 's adoption fee is $100. He comes neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots, rabies vaccination, collar, leash, and a small bag of food.
