Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1-11-013 Bear - male, vet checked, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, altered, dewormed, tx flea preventative, heartworm tested (-), ~1.5yr, ~70lbs, Chocolate Lab.
Bear is a typical Lab, the world is great and everyone in it is meant to be his friend. He’s a big teddy bear really, he loves people and gets along well with people of all ages. He also gets along really well with other dogs and cats. He is fine with respectful children of any age. Bear would be great on his own or as a second dog, he loves to play with other big dogs but doesn’t really pay attention to smaller ones. Bear has basic manners and doesn’t jump up or counter surf, he is crate trained and house trained, he is used to sleeping in his crate at night and when left alone. Bear could use a brush up on his leash skills and a little more obedience training but over all is a good boy. He is active and needs a good run each day, he’d love the fenced off leash dog parks but should still have around a 40min walk each day. Bear would be great for long weekends at the cottage or a walking pal in the city. He loves the snow and doesn’t mind the weather we have right now so plan to bundle up for a good brisk walk each day and some play time in the yard. Bear is a really great dog and will make a wonderful family companion. Bear needs a house with a fully fenced yard.
Not familiar with the Lab breed? Do your research before you apply, this is a good place to start - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/labrador.htm .
What do we want in an adopter for Bear? An active family, a house with a fully fenced yard.
