Do you love the sensitivity, brains, and wonderful expressiveness of Border Collies? Well then, you are going to LOVE Trigger! This darling BC mix pup is just over 4 months old and as adorable as he is sweet. Trigger came to WBCR with his mom and littermates from a shelter in New Mexico. Although all the rest have been adopted, it might just be we have saved the best for last!
Trigger is a darling little fellow who is a true lover of people. Although he can be a touch shy in new situations in general, he greets every human as an old friend and cannot resist a good cuddle! Trigger does really well with other dogs, too, and after a little initial shy hesitation when meeting a new canine, the game is on! He loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home, and he can run and wrestle with the best of them no matter their size. He also enjoys playing with toys. We have not seen much herding instinct in Trigger and he does live peaceably with a couple of dog savvy cats. Although he is a typical full of energy puppy, once he is all tuckered out he has a great off switch.
Trigger is housetrained, cratetrained, and hard at work learning the basics in his foster home. Like all puppies, Trigger will need a family who will work with him on learning the basics as well as set boundaries. He will also need adopters willing to work on building his confidence in new situations. Trigger is not over the top shy by any means but still needs to have new adopter move at a little slower pace with introducing new experiences; once he is familiar with a situation and/or new dog he does great.
Trigger will be happiest in a home who will include him as a family member and who has the time to devote to raising a puppy! Adopters who are willing to help him gain confidence, teach the skills to be a great canine companion, and who have a confident dog or two who he can play with and take his cues from will be best for sweet Trigger. If you are looking to add a wonderful, loving little character to your family, Trigger may be the boy for you!
Trigger is current on vaccinations, has been dewormed and microchipped. His adoption will include a $100 neuter deposit which will be cheerfully refunded to his adoptive family once proof of neuter is provided (when Trigger is ~6 months old). Trigger is living in a wonderful foster home near Fort Collins, CO.
