About Our Shelter...
We were founded in 1998. Our mission is to rescue abandoned and abused cats from the streets. We socialize them and provide any needed medical care including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, treating for internal and external parasites, dental care, and if needed eye surgeries, bone surgeries, etc. After they are treated they are placed in permanent loving homes. We do not euthanize any cat even if it is deemed unadoptable. They live out their lives with us. We have at any given time 175 to 300 cats and kittens. All are spayed or neutered before placing in homes (kittens receive pediatric spaying or neutering at 2 lbs. or more). We are supported by adoption fees and donations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ivy, a Powell Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Powell, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Powell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powell paves the way for another one to be saved.
