Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Raggedy Ann (or "Annie" as we call her) is a young girlie around 2 years old. A petite girl of only 12 pounds!! She is a calm JRT, good around kids and other dogs, and does not even mind a cat! Annie is one of those very special JRTs who melt your heart. She is going to make someone a great dog!!
She loves to play, house trained, well behaved, and kennel trained. Whoever adopts this girl will be truly lucky. She is a very special JRT girl.
Annie is light heartworm positive which is easily treated with monthly heartworm preventative. Our vet does not recommend heartworm treatment for a dog with a low amount of adult heartworms; therefore, she will not have to go through it. It is better for the dog's health longterm to allow the worms to die off slowly on a monthly basis. There are no long term affects using this "soft" approach. If you are interested in Annie and are concerned about her heartworm status, we would be happy to put you in contact with the vet who treated Annie. More vets are recommending the "Soft" approach to curing heartworms than the painful shot treatment.
There is a great article written by a prominent Houston vet that you should read as a starting point in your research.
