George's Story...
George is a gorgeous, soft and gentle boy who you would never suspect had such a sad story. George and his companion Cosette had a loving home together for five years. Unfortunately, after their "parents" had a baby of their own, they relinquished George and Cosette to animal control and requested they be euthanized. Luckily for Cosette and George, FOCAS was there to rescue them before they met their sad fate. Despite his sad past, George is ready to open his heart up to a new family, but he'll need someone patient and understanding to help him adjust to the big change of a new home. Cosette and George are not a true bonded pair, but it would be nice if you would consider adopting them together.

As with all FOCAS cats, George has been spayed/neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated and has tested negative for FIV/FELV

To meet George, please call 1 760 960-7293 or go directly to the Encinitas Petsmart located at 1034 No. El Camino Real, Encinitas, Ca. 92024. Our adoption hours are Monday-Friday 5-8 pm, Saturday 12-3 pm and 6-8 pm and Sunday 1-6pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

George, a San Diego Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
