Cosette's Story...
Cosette’s beautiful face easily masks her tragic story. Cosette and her five year companion George were a couple’s beloved and loyal pets for five years, until their world was turned upside down after the birth of the couple’s first baby. During the stressful adjustment period of parenthood the cats were neglected and became unhappy. When Cosette and George made their depressed state known by urinating outside the box their “parents” turned them over to the animal shelter requesting that they be euthanized. Luckily for Cosette and George, FOCAS was there to exit them before they met their sad fate. Since Cosette joined the FOCAS family, she has been 100% healthy and happy, with perfect litter box use. Even though her last home came to such a tragic end she is still a very loving and trusting cat, who wants nothing more than to be loved in return. Please come meet this sweet girl, she has a purr that will warm your heart. Cosette and George are not a true bonded pair, but it would be nice if you would consider adopting them together.

As with all FOCAS cats, Cosette has been spayed/neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated and has tested negative for FIV/FELV

To meet Cosette, please call 1 760 960-7293 or go directly to the Encinitas Petsmart located at 1034 no. El Camino Real, Encinitas, Ca. 92024. Our adoption hours are Monday-Friday 5-8 pm, Saturday 12-3 pm and 6-8 pm and Sunday 1-6pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cosette, a San Diego Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
