Say Hello to Dolly Pearl!! Dolly is almost 4 years old and is a very peach colored sweetie, she is quite the entertainer! She loves having her head and face scratched and will raise her wings for you to caress. Dolly in the past has bitten off her tail feathers, not plucked, but bitten. With an assortment of appropriate bird toys she seems to have stopped that behavior and is leaving her new tail feathers to grow out. UPDATE: She has fully grown tail feathers that are beautiful and she is not biting them at all !! She is on a good diet of Harrison's with fresh fruits and vegetables and love all types of pasta, potatoes and peanut butter. She is a bit headstrong and can be a bit of a screamer, but we are working on that. Having her close on a smaller perch when she is out of the cage seems to make her happy. She whistles, trills and talks when close by. She has learned to "step up" whenever she comes out of her cage. She also loves to hang on her cage and open all the doors from the outside and must have a cage that has protection against escape. She will bite when over stimulated and needs to have a quiet place to settle down at night. Also, she does seem to prefer females. If you are willing to spend a lot of time with her outside her cage everyday, just hanging and talking with her, and you have patience and love to give, then this is the bird for you!
