Yoakum's Story...
Hi there I am Yoakum, I am a sweet little boy but I can be a real shy. If you are polite and respectful my heart will be yours in no time. I enjoy being held and am easy to handle, pretty down to earth with one little quirk- I don’t feel so comfortable around strangers. I do great with other pets and am paper trained. If you can find space in your heart (and in your lap) for a special boy like me don’t hesitate to take me home with you! 1 year old-15lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; current shots, neuter, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary exam ,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Yoakum, a Portland Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Portland, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
