Micky's Story...
This is Micky! He is too cute!!! And a little timid as you can tell by his pictures. This little boy was found under an abandoned home. He is so very sweet and loves to cuddle with people even though some mean person left him alone in the cold with no food. Micky is a 3 month old Wire Hair Fox Terrier mix. Because of his breed - we think Micky would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. Micky has a great personality when he gets comfortable - but because of his age and circumstances he's a little scared by new situations and would do well with someone who could be patient and give him lots of love. He doesn't mind other dogs - but is initially scared of them. Micky is still a baby and will need patience and training. This sweet baby deserves to have a wonderful life to make up for the cruddy start! Are you the person or family who could give him that life?

Our dogs are mainly fostered in TN at our parent rescues . We have many wonderful dogs looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $425 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.
Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in the Maine area. Due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption. Our dogs are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day no questions asked money back guarantee and the dog can be returned to us if things don't work out. We try hard to get good matches in our homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date we have placed over a thousand dogs and puppies in loving homes from Tennessee clear up to Canada!
We have many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and we can pass along that information for your convenience.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Micky, a Portland Schnauzer (Standard)/Wirehaired Fox Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard)/Wirehaired Fox Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard)/Wirehaired Fox Terrier puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard)/Wirehaired Fox Terrier breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard)/Wirehaired Fox Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
