My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings! My name is Livia. I know that I do not look quite like the Roman Matriarch of my famous namesake but I am a quiet, dignified yet somewhat diffident young lady. I weigh about 14 lbs and I am a 2 year old, Rat Terrier mix.
When I was found as a stray by kind people I was very scared and a little confused. They couldn’t find my family for me so they brought me to MaxFund so I my family could find me. I suppose that no one has missed me because no one has claimed me. Therefore I am now looking forward to finding a family who will keep me safe and love me forever!

I am quite shy and I am more nervous of men than women. Therefore any men in my family will have to make slow overtures of friendship and they will need to give me time to get accustomed to them. Please remember that this reticence on my part is nothing personal – I am just wary of men, probably due to my past experiences.

It doesn’t take me at all long to get very comfortable with women and when I get to know you I am very affectionate. I love jumping on the couch, wriggling on to your lap and then feeling loved as we cuddle! I have very nice leash manners and enjoy walking and exploring new places. It is also nice to stop a while in a sunny spot on a park bench (I like to do the couch routine then as well!). I am fine with travelling in the car. Since I was a stray the folks here are not sure if I am housetrained. I can say that I keep my kennel as clean as possible and that I always go “potty” immediately I am let outside! Ladies do that, you know!

I promise that I will be a loyal and loving friend so if you happen to be looking for one of those, please remember that I am here at MaxFund. I will be waiting for you in the Small Dog Room!
