Flicka's Info...

Flicka's Story...
Flicka was dropped off by her owner the day before this particular shelter euthanizes all the animals that don’t have a stray hold on them. She was given less than a couple of hours to get adopted! She was extremely lucky that a wonderful volunteer noticed her and contacted rescue groups immediately to see if they could take this wonderful girl. Fortunately FOHA had room and here she is!

Flicka is a very sweet girl. As soon as you go to touch her she sits RIGHT by your side. She LOVES to cuddle and will even roll over for a belly rub. She’s great in the car, did extremely well with the vet, enjoys going for nice long walks, and appears to like other dogs. She would probably do well with children; the only thing you have to watch out for and need to work on is her eagerness to take treats. She needs to learn to take them gently. Her previous owner must have scolded at her and maybe hit her because she cowers pretty quickly. Flicka will probably do extremely well in a medium to active family setting. A very sweet girl.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flicka, a Aldie Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
