Murray's Story...
My name is Murray and I love boxes! If there is a box in the room...I want to be in it. I don't spend too much time with the other cats here at the shelter, I'm more of a "people cat". I'd rather spend time with the people in the office. So much so, that they let me sleep in the office now. I'd love to have a home with a person of my very own. I love to be pet and held...and I especially love treats! I'm just waiting for the right person to come along. Come and visit me sometime. I love to show off my room/office.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Murray, a Oyster Bay Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oyster Bay, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oyster Bay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oyster Bay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oyster Bay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oyster Bay paves the way for another one to be saved.
