Baby's Story...
My name is Baby, and I'm an adorable, all-black Dachshund. I arrived atFOHA with my friend Chance after our owner became too ill to care for us. It's been quite an adjustment, but at least we have a chance to find new, loving, forever homes. While we would love to be adopted together, we understand that not everyone wants to adopt two dogs. I'll miss Chance if we are adopted into separate homes, but at least we will hopefully be able to get into caring new homes quicker that way. I'm crate trained and very well-behaved. I'm a real cuddler, and I love getting lots of pets and attention. I broke my tail when I was a puppy, so when my tail doesn't wag a lot when we meet, don't take it personally, okay? I'll be very excited to meet you when you come out to FOHA! I would do well in a home without small children. Oh, and definitely no cats please! (PLEASE NOTE: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baby, a Aldie Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
