Gib's Story...
Let me tell you about my good friend Gibby. This tall, slender, handsome boy at 3 yrs of age is a dream dog. What is the best part of Gib? Is it his calm watchfulness? His obedience? His lovely gentle nature? Is it his soft coat or his slender body? Something about his shepherd presence is extremely relaxing and reassuring. His foster says she has never seen a bigger dog take up less space in a home than this calm, gentle fellow. During his cat test, he was interested in sniffing the cat, who was so relaxed, it rolled over and let Gib smell his tummy! Gib's usual position is reclining as you see in these pictures, keeping an eye out on everyone. On leash, he is relaxed and gentle, same regal relaxed posture while traveling in a car. The other dogs in his foster home love him. While not a playful dog with other dogs, he is their rock and they love him for it. HIs lightweight frame, tall legs and curlover tail (J's when relaxed) give away his Anatolian side, (plus all that quiet shepherding!) His lovely head and calm demeanor tell us about his Labrador background. Mellow, mellow, mellow. A rare barker, he sometimes will talk when he is happy, Gib alerts on strangers in his yard but meets them like a calm Braveheart. Sits, lays on command and comes when called. Gib is heartworm negative and housebroken.

Gib's adoption fee is $425.00 and he will come to you neutered and UTD on all of his vaccinations. To apply for Gib or to view our other available dogs and puppies, please visit:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gib, a Houston Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
